AI Assistant and DAP Help Items

The VisualSP AI Assistant is a Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) tool for End Users to assist them in enhancing productivity in their daily work assignments.

Licensing

The AI Assistant is available as a separate, licensed product for VisualSP customers and once properly licensed a member of the VisualSP Product team will enable it as a Supported Main Panel Application in the customer’s subscription.

The VisualSP AI Assistant offers eligible subscriptions the ability index DAP Help Item content that may be used to produce the response to a prompt and may also be returned as a part of the conversation response as shown in step 1 of the following conversation thread.

When new help items are created, they are automatically indexed for use in the AI Assistant upon saving as Published.

When existing help items are updated, the subscription admin/editor may click the 2) “Update AI Index” button in the footer menu of the associated help item in order to schedule the indexing of the item. Indexing individual items generally only takes a few minutes, but this is dependent on app service load and the current job queue volume.

External Web Pages

If the DAP help item is a ‘Web Page’ type pointing to an external page where the content has been changed – then you can manually click the ‘Update AI Index’ button to re-index it without editing the help item, itself.

The indexing process encompasses the Title, Description, and Content fields which include the walkthrough Step Title and Content; additionally, metadata such as the Icon and Publish state are also indexed for display and trimming purposes.

Images, Videos, and PDF

If the DAP help item links to or contains binary content including images, videos, PDFs and other document types, that content will not indexed. Links to content that is not publicly available will also not be indexed.
