Automatically Show Help Items when a User Visits a Page – Auto Show on Load

Applies to: VisualSP Online
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Any help item can be configured to automatically appear on the page when a user visits that type of page. For example, when a user visits a SharePoint team site home page for the first time, they would be shown that help item.

When configuring a help item, the Auto Show on Load section of the page will help you accomplish this:

This field accepts only one numerical value. Depending on the value that is inserted here, the help item would appear automatically at that time.

When a value is entered in this field, the Start date field appears with tomorrow’s date filled in by default. This field can be used if you would like to show the item only after a certain date (for example after a release of some functionality). There is also an optional End date field, which is useful if the Help item is no longer relevant after a certain date. By filling in the end date, the Help item will no longer display after that date.
