How to Enable and Disable VisualSP Help Provider Inheritance via PowerShell

If you have many site collections or web applications on which you need to enable or disable Help Item inheritance, you may find the below PowerShell commands more convenient.

# Get the web containing the hidden VisualSP Help Items list.
$web = Get-SPWeb http://demo

# Get the hidden VisualSP Help Items list.
$list = $web.Lists[“VisualSP Help Items”]

# Disable Inheritance
$list.RootFolder.Properties[“VisualSP::HelpProviderListsInheritsHub”] = “False”

# Or, Enable Inheritance
$list.RootFolder.Properties[“VisualSP::HelpProviderListsInheritsHub”] = “True”

# Save the changes.
$list.RootFolder.Update()
