How VisualSP Handles Customer Information

Applies to: VisualSP
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Personal Information

VisualSP is committed to ensuring user privacy and transparency regarding the information collected during usage of our application. When a user is activated in VisualSP, the application identifies and stores only information essential for providing personalized assistance and optimizing user experience. Specifically, VisualSP collects the username, first name, and last name of the logged-in user. These data points are securely stored in our Azure database, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding user privacy.

Location Information

It's important to note that VisualSP does not collect any location data about users. Our focus is solely on enhancing user productivity and support within supported web applications by delivering contextual help information tailored to individual users' needs. To achieve this, VisualSP analyzes the URL and other page-specific variables to determine the user's browsing context accurately. By leveraging this information, VisualSP serves users with relevant and timely assistance, empowering them to navigate and utilize supported web applications more effectively.

Web Application Information

The VisualSP solution needs to be able to access the web application's DOM elements to add our tab to the application page and place inline help and walkthrough elements. VisualSP does not capture, scrape, send, or store any part of the web application page to our services. VisualSP stores only data points of user activity related to the VisualSP managed help items including:

  • User interaction with Help Items (help item loaded, viewed, and clicked)
  • Date and Time of the interactions
  • Application Scope of the Help Item interaction

This information is necessary so that VisualSP can automatically load help items, show previously viewed indicators, and provide user analytics to customer stakeholders.

Clarity Integration Information

VisualSP does offer customers the ability to integrate our solution with Microsoft Clarity. Clarity is a user behavior analytics tool that helps companies understand how users interact with your website.

Supported features include:

  • Session Recordings
  • Heatmaps (or heat maps)
  • ML (Machine Learning) Insights

As a third-party service, Clarity may capture customer data and store it in compliance with Microsoft's Data Retention policy. This information is stored securely within Microsoft's data infrastructure and VisualSP does not control the nature or manner in which Clarity collects customer data. Customers must opt-in to Clarity integration with VisualSP and are provided full administrative control over their Clarity project profile, which includes security and privacy settings to the extent allowed by Microsoft.

Final Thoughts

In summary, VisualSP collects minimal user information strictly for the purpose of delivering personalized assistance within supported web applications. We prioritize user privacy and security, ensuring that only essential data is collected and stored in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Users can trust VisualSP to prioritize their privacy while providing valuable support and guidance to enhance their digital experiences. Also see What types of analytics does VisualSP collect?
