Search results explained

Applies to: VisualSP

In VisualSP, users can search for Help items in two ways: within the Help panel and through the gallery. Searching from the Help panel offers a streamlined interface, allowing users to input queries and receive targeted results without leaving their current workflow. This seamless integration enhances user experience and accelerates issue resolution. In the following sections, we'll explore the step-by-step process of searching within the Help panel, and in the gallery of items. Here is what a search looks like from the Help panel:

When conducted from within the Help panel, only Help items in the scope you are in will be searched, i.e., if you are in a document library, only help items related to a document library will be searched. Search in the Help panel only looks at the title, terms, and description. To expand your search to the entire gallery of items, click Click here to browse more:

Clicking this link will open the gallery of items in another window and will search all of the available help items for your query term.

Your query term will be searched across the Title, Media, Description, Viewer, Content Pack name, customization status, SharePoint scope, terms and term sets, and app scope fields. Fields are searched in real time.
