Enabling Content Security Policy (CSP) Overrides

Applies to:

Note: CSP overrides require that at least version 2.0.155 of the Ask Vic extension is force installed to domain joined machines using Group Policies. For more information about the policy see ExtensionInstallForceList. For instructions on how to force install the extension see Bulk Installation of VisualSP Browser Extension – Chrome/Edge

CSP Overrides allow an organization to modify the Content Security Policy of web pages to extend the support of VisualSP to 3rd-party applications that are blocking the standard Everywhere application scope.

Warning: improper use of this feature can diminish the security of your browser. Do not use unless you have reviewed the intended use case with appropriate members of your organization and are prepared to accept this level of risk.

Note: The Enable CSP Overrides feature must be activated by the VisualSP product team. Please have a Subscription Administrator contact your Customer Success Manager or open a support ticket to have this feature enabled on your subscription.

Once the Enable CSP Override has been set to ‘Yes’ the feature is now active and VisualSP will automatically apply a CSP override for MS applications that load over the the new cloud.microsoft domain. For restricted sites outside of Microsoft, the Subscription Admin will need to configure CSP overrides for each restricted application (e.g. Slack, Facebook) under the Applications > Define Applications tab. Select the desired application from the left menu and then the CSP Override tab from the active pane. Finally click to set the Enable CSP Overrides to ‘Enable’ and click ‘Save Application’ to apply the changes.

It is important to note that the user must have already activated the Ask Vic extension by visiting a supported site (any M365 application for broadest support) to allow the VisualSP help tab to load via a CSP Override.
