Permission levels (roles) in VisualSP Online

Applies to: VisualSP
Explanation of the different roles VisualSP Online Help System administrators can assign users to assist with the management of VisualSP:

Subscription Administrators

Full access to the subscription and can specifically do the following:
  • Manage users
  • Manage permissions for all app scopes and create/delete security groups for all app scopes
  • View analytics
  • Edit/Add/Delete all help items and groups
  • View draft items

App Administrators

Manage security and content for specific app scopes they’ve been assigned to. They can:
  • Manage permissions for the specific app scope to which they have been granted App Administrator rights (so they can add other app administrators to the app scoped security group and they can add editors to existing app scoped security groups but they’ll need a subscription admin to actually create the groups)
  • View Analytics
  • Edit/Add/Delete help items and groups associated with the specific app scope that they have access to
  • View draft items

Editors

Manage content only for the app scope they have been added to. They can:
  • View Analytics
  • Edit/Add/Delete help items and groups associated with the specific app scope that they have access to
  • View draft items

Users

Everyone else who isn't assigned one of the roles above is considered a user. You can control what help content your users have access to by configuring various settings when you create a help item, such as limiting the content to certain scopes, URL filters, SharePoint permissions, and browser filters.
