Create an Auto-Loading Help Item with Every Page Visit

Applies to: VisualSP

Scenario:

You have a Human Resources page where you would like to display a notice every time a user visits the page.

Solution:

VisualSP can be configured to display a help item multiple times in the Auto Show on Load configuration area in the Load Behavior section of the Editor window.
  1. Add an auto show pattern selector of Page Loads into the Auto Show on Load field. For example, to show the help item the first 10 times a user visits a page, enter 1-10. To display the help item the first time, and then every time between the 10th and the 15th visit, enter 1, 10-15. A value of 0 will never show the help item automatically.
  2. If you are using a banner, toggle this to Yes to Continue the auto-load even if the user dismisses the banner by clicking the "x".
  3. You can configure a start date for the auto-show help item.
  4. You can also configure an end date for the help item.
The best way to test this is to open the page in Incognito mode.
