VisualSP leverages Azure cloud services and employs caching mechanisms to optimize performance. However, in some instances, cached content may delay the appearance of recent edits made to help items. To address this issue, administrators and editors can temporarily disable the server cache within VisualSP. This ensures that updates to help items are immediately reflected without waiting for cache expiration.
To get there:
- Open the Help panel
- Click the person icon in the upper right corner
- Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to get to the Diagnostics window
- Check the Temporarily disable server cache checkbox
Checking the box will force the browser to ignore the cloud cache for 2 hours.
Effects of Disabling Server Cache
By enabling the "Temporarily disable server cache" option, VisualSP instructs the browser to ignore the cloud cache for a predefined duration, typically set to 2 hours.
This action ensures that recent edits made to help items are immediately visible to administrators and editors without relying on cached content.
VisualSP's caching mechanisms are designed to enhance performance by reducing load times and optimizing resource delivery. However, in situations where cached content delays the appearance of updates to help items, administrators and editors can utilize the "Temporarily disable server cache" feature. By following the outlined steps, users can ensure that their changes are promptly reflected, maintaining the accuracy and relevance of help resources within VisualSP.
